Captain's Lesson:
If the person or person’s in your party that have been designated to be in charge of the operations and driving of the vessel have NO previous Houseboat driving experience; a captain’s lesson is required. The lesson is given by a licensed Coast Guard Captain. The cost of the lesson is $200.00 and takes approximately 3-4 hours. The lesson includes the fundamentals of houseboat operation.
Please inform BC&M if this applies to you when making your reservation.
Orientation:
You will need to have 1 or 2 people with you who will be taken the orientation. No loading of personal items on the boat while the orientation is being done. This is about 1 1/2 hours. Your group will not be able to be on the boat when the orientation or Captains' Lesson is being done.
The orientation will include going over the paper work and sign the contract.
Reservation Payment:
Reservations will be confirmed upon availability of requested dates and receipt of a $300 deposit. The deposit can be made payable by Visa or MasterCard. We will acknowledge receipt of deposit with a confirmation letter. There will be a 3% convenience fee charged for paying the deposit or the balance due with a credit card.
Charter Payment:
The balance of the charter payment is due sixty days prior to departure. BC&M reserves the right to cancel any booking for which final payment has not been made.
Cancellation Policy:
Your $300 reservation payment is refundable less a $75.00 administrative fee if your reservation is canceled in writing sixty days prior to departure. Cancellations made less than sixty days prior to departure will be refunded if we are able to rent out your requested dates, less the administrative fee. If the dates are not rented, no refund is given.
Damage Deposits:
A credit card (Visa or Master Card) is required for your damage deposit. If you don't have a credit card, you will need to bring a check in the amount of $500.00 the damage deposit will be applied to the following charges: damage caused to the houseboat, lost or broken inventory, late returns or excessively unclean boat. The damage deposit will be refunded provided there are no outstanding charges and the boat is returned at the appointed time ($100 per hour for late return).
Pets Policy:
Your pets would be safer at home. We do not allow pets on board at anytime, or in the home
Fireworks:
Please let everyone in your group know we don't allow fireworks or firearms of any kind, on any of the houseboats or in the Riser Creek Home. The City of Hope will have a fireworks show in the Ellisport Bay July 4, and will be able to be seen for your houseboat (in your slip) or from the home or beach at Riser Creek.

A signed rental agreement is required after your orientation. A valid driver's license is required. Must be over age 21 to sign for and operate the vessel.
